Since the discovery of hydrogen gas by Swiss Alchemist Philippus Aureolus Paracelsus in 1520, the world has shared a common dream of using hydrogen as the perfect energy source and fuel. More than a century ago, experiments confirmed that water could be separated into hydrogen and oxygen gases through electrolysis. However, the amount of electricity needed to energize the water molecules enough to render separate hydrogen and oxygen gases was an overwhelming limitation. Typically, the energy requirement was too great to produce an economical and efficient hydrogen fuel source. In addition, most conventional electrolyzers produced only small quantities of separate hydrogen and oxygen gas that were very explosive and dangerous if not handled properly...
